About

Yanne Albert

Yanne Albert is an Estonian-based historical romance, literary fiction and fantasy author who loves history, travel, and making a difference in the world.

Yanne has a Bachelor’s in Japanese Studies (with focus on classical literature) and is currently earning her Master’s degree in Literary Studies. Inspired by her love of words and traveling the world, Yanne speaks Estonian, English, Japanese, and a little bit of Russian. When she is not writing, she makes a living as an editor and coaches other writers on how to use language to express their innermost selves.

Combining her passion for writing with her love of helping others, Yanne also incorporates important themes into her novels, such as women’s empowerment, trauma and disability awareness, grief, and self-love. In short, her touching novels show life problems with a dash of hope – perfect for anyone looking to deepen their relationships with loved ones and themselves. As a pansexual woman with autoimmune disorders and chronic pain, Yanne knows firsthand how important it is to be a healer spiritually, emotionally, and physically. Her mission is to be a beacon of light in a dark world, reminding others that they are not alone.

(Just ask her beloved rescue cat, Aaren, who took 50 weeks before he allowed her to pet him!)

Story of the Moon's child

On a snowy Thursday night twin girls are born – one for the Sun and the other for the Moon. This is the story of the Moon’s child.

The Moon’s child goes to school – immediately she’s captivated by words. What funny little things they are – so small yet so full of power.

The Moon’s child meets Steffi – a girl who came to her from the land of Fantasy. Steffi asks the Moon’s child to tell her story.

The Moon’s child meets Death. She cannot find the words to describe it. So she vows to not speak of it until she does.

The Moon’s child falls in love with her childhood friend: the Land of the Rising Sun. She finds the first words to describe Death – the words are broken and heavy but they are free.

The Moon’s child story “Letters to Dawn” wins a short story contest. It’s a story of loss and moving on. It’s a story about broken people. The Moon’s child has found it’s theme.

The Moon’s child is spinning in her chair in a dorm room in Sendai, Japan, listening to Ben Howard’s “Time is Dancing”. She meets Margo and Daniel who are also spinning (dancing) in a ballroom (time).

The Moon’s child finishes first draft of “Garden of the Night Lilies” but Margo and Daniel say their story is not yet over.

The Moon’s child, Margo and Daniel are ready to share their stories with the rest of the world.
